Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease which affects cartilage and bone which leads to stiffness and pain around a joint which can limit activity and causes disability. Osteoarthritis is linked to other joint disease such as rheumatoid arthritis, joint trauma, obesity, repetitive joint usage eg. running, family history of osteoarthritis and genetic makeup.
